Your Lease Guide
LEASING IS A GREAT OPTION IF YOU:
- Want lower monthly payments: When you lease your new vehicle, you can have considerably lower monthly payments compared to financing. This is because you’re only paying for the depreciation of the vehicle over the lease term.
- Like driving a newer car more often: With a lease, you can get into a newer vehicle more frequently, enjoying updated technology and design.
- Would like a short-term commitment: Leasing offers flexibility if your life circumstances change and you need to adjust your vehicle needs.
BENEFITS INCLUDE:
- Lower monthly payments compared to financing
- More frequent access to newer vehicles with updated technology
- Guaranteed and predictable future value
- Flexibility if personal circumstances change
- Always driving a vehicle under warranty
- Limiting personal liability in case of an accident with GAP Insurance
- Lower interest rates using Multiple Security Deposits (MSDs)
- Paying GST only on what you use
You’re approaching the final phase of lease ownership with your Volvo vehicle and Volvo Car Financial Services. During this time you have options available with how you’d best like to proceed.

Lease Options Available to You
Option 1 – Purchase your leased vehicle
Your vehicle may still be the best vehicle for you and your needs. Contact us to help process the purchase on your leased vehicle and discuss the option to finance with Volvo Car Financial Services (subject to credit approval). Note that should you purchase your leased vehicle, no pre-inspection is required and there will not be any charge for excess wear and tear, nor for any kilometres over the allowable amount.
Option 2 – Return your leased vehicle and enjoy a new vehicle with Volvo Cars
If you are interested in replacing your current lease with a new Volvo, first contact Valentine Volvo to begin the new journey. The lease end process below provides you the step-by-step process to complete the current lease.
Option 3 – Return your leased vehicle and complete your experience with Volvo Cars and Volvo Car Financial Services
Should you wish to simply return your leased vehicle you may do so at Valentine Volvo. The lease end process below provides you the step-by-step process to complete your lease journey.
The Three Step Process
Returning your vehicle at the completion of your lease is a simple three-step process that should be started approximately three months before your expected return date. If you’ve chosen to purchase your leased vehicle, this return process does not apply.
Step 1: Have your vehicle inspected
To help you prepare for your lease return, Valentine Volvo will contact you to schedule a complimentary vehicle pre-inspection, which will be conducted by an independent inspection company. This pre-inspection will provide you with a vehicle condition review to identify excess kilometrage and/or excess wear and tear. While not mandatory, we recommend scheduling your pre-inspection between 30 and 60 days prior to returning your vehicle to allow enough time for any service or repairs before the time of return.
Step 2: Review the pre-inspection
Contact Valentine Volvo to review the results and determine the most suitable option for you with respect to repairs needed or reconsideration of purchasing your leased vehicle. You have until lease expiration to complete any repairs and ensure all applicable parts and accessories are with the vehicle. Should you opt not to complete a pre-inspection, one will be conducted after you return your lease. At such time, any costs associated with damage or missing parts/accessories will be your responsibility and a statement will be sent to you requesting payment.
Step 3: Schedule the time and turn-in your vehicle
Contact Valentine Volvo to schedule a date and time for the vehicle to be returned before or at the date of maturity. Anticipate some time with the retailer to go through closing documents and final review of the vehicle. Your final paperwork with us includes a lease end statement, in most cases including a vehicle condition report and final kilometre reading. Should a retailer condition report not be available, a final third-party inspection will be completed to determine vehicle condition.
Inspection Details
The pre-inspection is to be conducted at your convenience and at no charge to you; meeting you at your home, work, or retailer. Upon completion of the third-party inspection, the representative will provide a link to an online detailed estimate available within 48 hours from the date of inspection.
